The Dale and Leslie Chihuly Foundation was formed in 2009 with a mission to inspire and educate the public regarding all forms of art, and to provide support to artists and arts organizations.
“I was incredibly fortunate to receive a Fulbright Grant to study glassblowing in Venice, and two National Endowment for the Arts grants—each of which were critical to my development and success. These awards gave me the money to carry out art projects that I would not have been able to afford otherwise, and the prestige of the awards opened doors to new opportunities and gave me the confidence that I needed to become the artist I am today. Leslie and I created the Chihuly Foundation to ensure others have the funding they need to become the artists they are meant to be.”

“Supporting artists and ensuring accessibility to quality arts programs and education is critically important. The arts are essential to building stronger connections in our community, and we are proud to support programs that provide aspiring artists with a nurturing learning environment, high quality educational programs, and the inspiration to become innovative and engaged citizens.”
